Sickness while unemployed
If you become sick, you must report your sickness via at jobnet.dk already on the first day of sickness. You must report sick, even if you are only sick for 1 day. Otherwise, you will lose your benefits or sickness benefits for the day of sickness.
When you have reported sick via jobnet.dk, CA will be notified automatically, and you do not have to contact us, unless you have a meeting scheduled with us the same day.
Once you are well again, you must immediately report well at "My page" at jobnet.dk so that you can once again receive benefits from the unemployments insurrance fund.
While sick, you may either receive benefits from CA or sickness benefits from your local municipality. It depends on whether you are fully or partially unemployed. For more details, see further below.
Report sickness immediately
You will not receive benefits during sickness or sickness benefits unless you have reported sick at jobnet.dk. It is therefore important that you report sick already on your first day of sickness.
Well again
When you are well again, you must report well at jobnet.dk if you want to receive benefits from us after your sickness period. You must also fill in an absence form.
Reporting sickness and absence from meetings with the Jobcenter and CA
When you have reported sick, you will not be invited for mandatory meetings or other meetings with the jobcenter, CA or a secondary operator.
However, please note that sickness is not a valid excuse for not attending a meeting unless you have already reported sick. You must call those who have scheduled the meeting.
As full-time unemployed, you can claim benefits from CA for the first 14 days of sickness. If you are not well again after 14 days, you can then claim sickness benefits from your local municipality.
If you do not report well again within the first 14 days, CA will automatically inform your local municipality. The local municipality will then send you a disclosure form to fill in. This process is fully electronic. Please remember to observe the time-limits given.
If you do not automatically receive the application, you must contact your local municipality no later than 5 weeks after your first day of sickness and inform them that you wish to claim sickness benefits.
If you have part-time work and receive supplementary benefits, you are not entitled to benefits from CA while sick.
Instead, you must claim sickness benefits from your local municipality for the duration of your sickness.
CA will automatically inform your local municipality when you have reported sick at jobnet. This process is fully electronic. Please remember to observe the time-limits given.
If you do not automatically receive the application, you should contact your municipality no later than 3 weeks after your first day of sickness and inform them that you want to claim sickness benefits.
If you are in a wage-subsidised job or a job rotation programme, you only need to report sick to your employer.
You will then be entitled to either pay during sickness or sickness benefits according to the rule concerning paid employees.
