Wage subsidy
After having been unemployed for a period, you have the right and the duty to participate in activation programmes.
A wage-subsidised job is a kind of activation programme and is a good way to gain work experience in a specific field and to gain a foothold in the industry.
The terms and duration of the wage-subsidised job are agreed with the Jobcenter. A wage-subsidised job can last up to 6 months in a private company. In the public sector, an unemployed person may have a wage-subsidised job for up to 4 months.
You’ll receive pay while you have a wage-subsidised job.
