If your right to benefits expires

If your benefit entitlement expires before you have earned the right to a new 2-year benefit period, you may be able to extend your benefit period. Alternatively, you may choose to save for a new period with benefit rights.

Your municipality must offer you a senior job if your benefit rights expire less than 5 years before you reach early retirement age – provided that you fulfil the conditions for taking early retirement.

If you have no other means of support, you may be entitled to cash benefits (‘kontanthjælp’) from your municipality.
